Our purpose in this election
We inform voters about the candidates and issues and advocate based on feedback from Laguna Beach residents. Our forums, voter guide and polls give residents a way to raise concerns, compare candidate positions and help shape our priorities.
We may support or oppose candidates and ballot measures based on the priorities expressed by Laguna Beach residents through our polling. We may also choose not to take a position.
Why we created this guide
Our September 15, 2026 candidates forum brought candidates and residents together for direct questions, visible disagreements and candidate-to-candidate engagement. The voter guide continues that work by presenting sourced quotations, issue comparisons, the candidate-focused forum recording and written follow-up questions.
Our approach
We seek clarity, not forced agreement. Candidate quotations are attributed to their source and time when available. Candidates may submit corrections, additional context or written answers. Candidate responses will be published together without substantive editing, although consistent formatting may be applied.
Questions from residents
Through advance outreach, email and forum question cards, we received roughly 100 questions and suggested topics. Some were consolidated or edited for clarity, brevity, duplication and fairness. A question’s inclusion does not mean Advocates endorses every premise.
